Kandy Perahera Festival one of the biggest attractions in Sri Lanka is happening this year too. The Perahera has been held to pay homage to Buddhas Tooth Relic(Dalada Wahanse) from the 3rd Century BC. Budhists believe that this perahera brings blessings to people of Sri Lanka and Rain to help the crops to grow.

Filled with traditional dance items and beautifully decorated elephants this is one of the most colorful festivals of its kind in the world. The pereheras start on Esala full moon poya day in July and ends on Nikini Full moon poya day in August.
